Are you in search of tips that might reduce your weight at a greater pace so that you could start holding down pounds which in turn are weighing you down? We all here are in search of the best ways that can help us lose weight and we over here want to slim down-that goes speechless. But what can be done in order to maximize the results? This might seem a very difficult question but the answer to it is as simple as it can get.

Some of the weight loss tips that are prescribed by dieticians are very hard and cannot be followed by everyone on regular basis. So keeping that in mind, given below are some simple tips that will help you to shed the same amount of pounds that a dietician diets would without making that much of an effort and without making any conscious efforts and without having to stop yourself from eating the things you prefer.

1.) Take part in activities which burn a lot of calories like cycling, jogging, running, swimming. If you reside somewhere that do allow biking, it would be a good way to reduce calories a lot more effective than walking, running and jogging. If you reside in a town this could be a good way to get around, burn calories which would not only let you achieve your aim but would also save your money. You can easily reduce 5 pounds by riding your cycle, bike for around 20 minutes a day and keeping a check on your diet.

2.) Lower down your sugar extent. Why? Sugar increases insulin level in our body which commands our body to save all additional energy as ugly and harmful fat.

3.) Participate in a great weight loss program. If you did not locate a fat loss curriculum to follow, do it now. Natives are having marvelous success utilizing fat loss programs and we can too, do make sure you locate the best ones.

Anything we can do more to reduce weight? Of course we can if we have the will and motivation and are really interested in losing weight. These were the exposed basics and do set ground work for rest of them. I do call them tried-&-true-tips. If we want to kick out pounds to curb and get the best shape you can get, simply follow the above mentioned tips.

Forget resolutions that you don’t keep! Vow to make a commitment to healthier eating instead. With one goal in mind-healthier eating habits-you can knock out many of the tired, worn out resolutions you used to recycle year after year.

Notice that two of the most popular resolutions, weight and exercise, aren’t mentioned here. Not because they’re not important-they’re certainly are; but by focusing on just one thing-healthier eating habits, you can change your life in gradual ways that will eventually encompass every aspect of personal wellness!

Learn to make small changes. Start by buying lower-fat versions of your favorite dairy products and condiments, such as mayonnaise. If skim milk is too unappealing to you at first, then start with 2. An easy way of doing this is to mix the different types and gradually mix in more and more of the lower fat version. Soon, you won’t be able to tell the difference!

When given a choice, purchase whole-grained products. Whole-grain breads and pastas have come a long way since first being introduced and are delicious as well as nutritious! Again, if you have trouble making the switch, use a combination of both until you’re ready to switch for good.

Fruits should be a major part of your healthy diet. An easy way to get in most of your daily fruit requirements is to have a smoothie as a meal replacement or healthy snack! Whether you call them smoothies, weight loss shakes, or protein shakes, they’re delicious, filling, and highly nutritious! The best ones are made at home in your own blender. Mix a cup of skim milk, a half-cup of fat-free plain yogurt, fresh or frozen fruit, and an optional scoop of your favorite whey protein powder, and blend with ice!

Vegetables are another important requirement for healthy eating. You can easily add vegetables to your diet by having a small salad each night with your dinner. Get in your daily heart healthy oils by using two teaspoons of olive oil with your favorite vinegar or lemon juice for dressing. Try unusual fresh vegetables or stick with your frozen favorites. Both will work. Most vegetable servings consist of a half-cup, so it’s not necessary to eat large amounts, but variety is important! Making a big pot of vegetable soup is an easy way to get in your recommended servings, and eating soup is a great weight loss strategy too!

While reviewing your new healthy eating plan, don’t forget to eat plenty of lean protein! Try to have at least three ounces of lean protein at every meal. Protein and fiber are the two nutrients that keep you full and satisfied the longest. By eating more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, your fiber intake will dramatically improve. Be sure to add plenty of water to stay hydrated and flushed.

Drastically limit the amount of sugar you consume. Sugar is the one food product that provides absolutely no health benefit to the body. When you crave sweetness, try a piece of fruit or a piece of gum first. If you must eat sweets, then eat small amounts infrequently. The same applies for sweet drinks. The more sweet things you consume, the more you crave.

Once you make these minor changes in your diet, you’ll find that you quickly look and feel better. You’ll be satisfied with less food, happier with the numbers you see on the scale, and have more energy to be more active. You’ll quickly realize that you can make huge improvements in your overall health, just by eating a healthier diet.

Walking: The Most Suitable Exercise for Any Human Being

January 17, 2009

By Ricky Hussey

You have spent a lot of money over in your gym by buying different supplements, getting suitable coaches, buying costumes, going there and coming again. But your results are not that much which you have expected. You are tired of doing this. You have practiced everything available in the market but you feel cheated.

You are getting a sense of betrayal. You know it very well that for your condition, no one but you are responsible. You are in no mood to start once again and by now you have lost every hope. So what is the problem? The problem is you have accumulated extra pounds and you are being taunted by everyone. Even your wife has stopped liking you. She complains that you are not what you used to be earlier.

Yes, this is obesity and you are also a soldier in the weight loss. The main reason behind your not losing extra weight is your poor self control i.e. you have no self regulation. You need it very much. A lot many wars have been won by this principle then what is your obesity? You need not worry. If you are feeling all the above symptoms then you have come to the right place. Here you will be guided to various exercises which you can do without even noticing it that you are doing the exercises.

For any human being, the best exercise is walking. Yes you are right. Walking is considered to be the best exercise. Not much thought involved in it and it is absolutely free. Most of all you don’t need any instructor to help you do this because you know how to walk very well. You have done it since your childhood. It does not matter whether you are old or young, male or female, husband or wife, child or adult. Age has no meaning at all. You can do it.

When you start walking, you will get strange feeling. You may feel tired. You may feel it is not going to yield any result. Your will power may advise you strange things. It may say that you look better obese. That it suits your personality. By becoming slim, you may lose your charm. But don’t heed to these ideas. You too know very well that it is being said just to prevent you from doing your exercise. So don’t listen to it. Here the thing of self regulation comes.

Are You Doing All The Right Things and Still Not Losing Weight? Discover What’s Missing

January 14, 2009

By Dr. Becky Gillaspy

We are bombarded by weight loss success stories on TV and in magazines, “It way so easy!” It can be downright frustrating if weight loss has been elusive for you, so if you are tired of hearing about how other people lost weight and you are ready to implement a strategy for your real life challenges, then please read on.

There are many obstacles that are common to people who struggle with their weight regardless of their social status, upbringing or genetic makeup. Chief among these obstacles is a feeling that even when they try to exercise and eat right they cannot lose weight and keep it off.

You can do all the right things, you can eat less sugar, cut back on your portion sizes, and start a walking program and even though you are doing all these things your weight still doesn’t drop. What is the problem?!

Well, it’s not that you are lazy – you’re not. It is not that your body doesn’t work right or there is something wrong with you. The problem is that your plan is incomplete.

It is possible to lose weight by using diet and exercise alone but unfortunately this typically requires a fair amount of willpower and only 5% of people who lose weight this way will keep it off.

However, by adding the missing piece you can greatly increase your ability to lose weight and maintain that weight loss. What is missing? It is called your Weight Mindset and it is a powerful predictor of your weight loss success or failure. It is the missing link that determines whether you will successfully shift to a healthier lifestyle or return to your old habits and it has nothing to do with willpower.

Your Weight Mindset is a collection of the thoughts, feelings and beliefs you have in your head about food, dieting and your weight. It began to form when you were a child and it has been developing and refining inside you ever since. It is a part of your subconscious mind so it operates below your conscious awareness yet it is very powerful because it influences all of your habits and behaviors.

You can get a glimpse at your Weight Mindset by answering a simple question. I want you to use only one word to answer and go with the first word that comes to your mind.

Ready?

Using only one word, describe your body.

If your word was beautiful or fit, congratulation this indicates a beneficial mindset. However, if your word was negative, such as fat or lazy, then your Weight Mindset is not congruent with the positive changes you are trying to make and it will make losing weight very difficult and keeping that weight off even harder.

Your Weight Mindset is a way your mind generalizes and organizes all the information you get bombarded with each day. It acts like a filter allowing you to only see evidence that is congruent with your thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself.

So if you are doing the right things, like dieting and exercising, yet you are always thinking you are fat or you believe you will never change you are filtering out any evidence that supports your goal and only accepting the evidence that supports your faulty belief making weight loss difficult and making yourself feel hopeless.

There is a way to change your Weight Mindset and make it beneficial so it helps you on your weight loss journey. It is a simple 5 step formula:

1. Build a Strong Desire 2. Believe in Your Ability to Change 3. Commit to Your Plan 4. Know that You are Worthy of a New Healthier Body 5. Be Flexible so You Can Deal with Unexpected Circumstances

By Mastering these 5 steps you rise above the problem of weight loss and form a Weight Mindset that is now in line with your actions. Tired of hearing about how other people lost weight? Revise your Weight Mindset and before you know it you will have your own success story to share.

Fast weight loss and your health

January 14, 2009

By Jamie Hanson

Weight loss is the latest mantra. Actually it does not make one wonder. The western countries are reeling heavily under the pressure of obesity. It’s as if a giant junk machine is piling pressure on us continuously. We live very hectic lives. This does not give us enough opportunity to take meals at time. The ideal meal plan tends towards leaner meals at a higher frequency. This means that our large glutton meals at fairly large interval are just what the body does not need. It is difficult for the body to process such food.

People try various diet pills as a panacea. Unfortunately, there is no such miracle pill to date. Weight is gained over a life time of over indulgence, its only natural that it takes sometime to lose weight. The psychological trauma of being overweight is such that people take resort in crash diets. There is the Atkins diet, Hollywood diet, burst diets like belly shock method and much more. These are the very unsafe methods of losing weight and only causes serious relapse apart from fatigue, metabolic reverses, immunity loss and strong seizures.

It’s not only about weight loss. It’s also about losing it in away that brings no poor side effect or withdrawal symptoms. Let us discuss few such methods within the ambit of these articles.

Using a lot of fiber, fruits and vegetables- This is a time tested method. First, it is such wholesome food that it does not leave any space for junk craving. This means that the appetite is completely suppressed. Second, it has such balanced diet that the body is lured to believe that there is a party out there. It asks the metabolism to shed fat as it feels that no storage is required. Hence weight is lost in a very safe way. This is a fitness mantra that keeps the health factor alive.

Diet structures- One should also follow those diet structures that can be easily processed by the body. Each body is different in this regard so a perfect assessment and evaluation by a doctor is necessary. STF diet creator is doing well to help prepare such diet charts.

Exercise and cardio- One can also look for certain exercises that can help with losing weight without any possible harm. These can be low intensity exercise such as brisk walking and cycling or moderate intensity exercises like cardio. While brisk walking, the idea is to walk with shortened strides. These help in a rhythmic motion of the body that peps up the heart rate and induces metabolism into losing weight.

Cardio works on the principle of increasing heart rate to shed calories and lose weight. There are quite a few cardio which can be safely tried; Hindu squats and treadmill exercises are just two of these.

Losing weight is important but equally important is contesting the battle for fitness. Those weight loss exercises which risk longevity should not be tried at any rate. It also includes starving one self to death for the sake of cutting out some flab from the belly.

Get Rid Of Excess Fat Once And For All

January 14, 2009

By Ricky Hussey

We live in a society that has continuously pestered us with weight loss tips, tricks and ideas. There are day in and day out ads splashed all over the newspapers, TV, radio and the internet on how to lose weight. It is either some new innovative way or some new diet which has just been introduced. This is not it there are also numerous weight loss studies that we read about in the newspaper. Then of course there are your weight loss products which by just swallowing or taking a certain product X one can immediately feel the change in one’s body

Though, when it comes down to it they are just a few very basic and unwritten rules to losing weight, which will never change no matter what. Some of these basic rules can be seen below.

First of all let us start with by talking about one’s diet. This does not include the term diet where you have to eat only 1 mean per day. This is about your eating habits. Where instead of the usual 3 meals per day, there is a better option of eating 6 meals per day. This definitely makes it a lot easier to control one’s diet.

This does not mean that you should restrict yourself from eating sweets or maybe even ice-cream, though one should be careful which the quantity of the intake. A person can easily lose a few pounds just by changing their eating habits. Though, controlling your eating habits will not do the job alone. It is important to exercise on a daily basis. A healthy diet will help you lose those 10 pounds but will not take care of the next 10.

When you are just starting on the treadmill or lifting weights, start slowly and then gradually pick up the pace. This will help avoid those painful stomach cramps and muscle pulls. On the days that you take offs from your usual routine do any exercise that you have fun doing.

There is also the option of taking up dance classes, aerobics or yoga. All three have their unique benefits of losing weight. Some of them not only help you in losing weight but also help reduce your stress levels and make you more energetic. When it comes to choosing which weight loss tip to select, select one which you love doing and would do even without being reminded.

Are Negative Thoughts Keeping You Overweight?

January 14, 2009

By Dr. Becky Gillaspy

By the time we are 8 years old we have heard “No, you can’t” fifty thousand times. Contrast that with the fact that by the same age we have only heard “Yes, you can” eight thousand times and it becomes easy to see why we feel inclined toward negative thought.

To your brain a thought is a thing and the more often a thought is entertained the stronger your brain connects that thought to your reality, Therefore, if you continually entertain negative thoughts about dieting and weight loss then you are creating a pattern of thought that will make losing weight very difficult.

When this negative pattern of thought has been processed by your brain often enough it moves from being a conscious thought pattern to a subconscious thought loop. And the reason this is significant is because 96% of your habits and behaviors are driven by your subconscious mind. In other words the subconscious thoughts that you have programmed yourself to belief are directly influencing the actions you take on a daily basis, even if those actions are leading to unwanted results such as keeping you fat.

If you take a look at traditional weight loss efforts you will notice that they focus mainly on diet and exercise strategies, these are obviously important and necessary components of weight loss but if the whole time you are dieting you are entertaining negative thoughts such as, “I hate diet foods.” or “I can’t wait till this diet is over.” then how long do you expect your weight loss to last? I am not saying that in order for you to be successful at weight loss you have to love “diet” foods or tell yourself happy thoughts about the dieting process. But what you must do is shift your focus away from what you don’t like about losing weight to focus on all the positive things weight loss is bringing into your life.

Successful weight loss requires that you develop a mindset that supports your diet and exercise strategies. Fortunately your weight mindset is a choice, you can choose to focus on what you hate about losing weight or choose to focus on all the benefits you will get from reaching your goal. The choice is yours.

You can make this shift easier if you take a few moments to become very clear on what you would like to achieve. I call this creating a wellness vision. It is simple 2 or 3 sentence statement that describes what life will be like, look like and feel like once you reach your weight loss goal. This vision should be very vivid and produce a positive emotion every time you read it. You job then becomes to focus on this wellness vision often enough that it becomes your new pattern of thought.

Losing stubborn weight is not about just eating different foods and moving your body differently, it is about changing the negative patterns of thought that keep you locked in your destructive habits. Make the choice to create positive associations to weight loss by creating a wellness vision and focusing your thoughts on it several times a day. With time and repetition you will create a subconscious thought loop that supports your efforts and finally lose that stubborn weight that in the past had been so difficult to shed.

Is Your Diet Over Managed?

January 14, 2009

By Dr. Becky Gillaspy

Do you try to over-manage your diet in hopes that you will have more success? Is this how your typical weight loss attempt looks:

1. Decide what to eat for the week, including snacks 2. Get to the grocery store and stock the house with “healthy” foods 3. Read every food label 4. Buy a food journal 5. Measure all the foods you eat 6. Record the carbohydrates/proteins/fats of each food 7. Count every calorie, including chewing gum and coffee creamer 8. Avoid too much sodium 9. Avoid sugar like the plague 10. Give up, “Who wants to live like this, I would rather deal with the weight.”

You have been taught how to act when on a diet but trying to do too much can easily lead to overwhelm and you are likely to quit in frustration vowing to never go on a diet again!

The problem with diets in general is that they are based on a temporary mindset. The mere fact that you have to “go on” a diet means that you will eventually “go off” of it.

You are willing to go on a diet and do what is necessary to make the diet a success but the whole time you might be thinking, “I can’t wait until this is over.”

In order to create a mindset that supports long-term weight loss success you must look at dieting not as a collection of annoying tasks but as an action you are taking to improve your quality of life. This requires a focus shift.

When you over manage your diet you are very focused on the one thing you want to think less of – FOOD. Food becomes the center of the universe on a micro-managed diet because every bit of it is analyzed, measured or weighed. This is a problem because you get what you focus on, if your approach to weight loss is keeping you laser focused on food you will always want more food.

A better solution is to focus on what you will get once you have lost the weight. This creates a target for you that becomes clearer the more you focus on it.

Let’s say you would like to lose 40 pounds, what you want to do is focus on what life will be like without those extra pounds. Put yourself in a movie and look at the world through the eyes of you at your goal weight. What are you wearing, how are you holding your body, how high is your confidence level when you walk in a room.

Make the pounds real to you, pick up something that weighs 40 pounds and try to walk up a flight of stairs. Then put the item down and climb the same stairs, note how much easier it was with less weight, now focus for a moment on how effortless climbing those stairs will be when your body is lighter.

You will still find it necessary to monitor your food intake and plan meals but by shifting your focus away from food and onto the great possibilities that are to be you will find your motivation actually builds and you are much more likely to see your plan through until your goal is reached.

Self Motivation – The Best Way for Weight Loss Method

January 13, 2009

By Ricky Hussey

When we actually think about the way to weight loss, the conflict waged is generally in our mind. “Will it be wise to eat this double layered chocolate cake? Why am I hogging away on this muffin? It’s so high on and overflowing with fat. What a pig of me. I have absolutely no self-control.” It’s no wonder we’ll end up eating that delicious chocolate cake to over shadow the depressing self-talk.

More than a diet what we need is a technique to move those self-defeating feelings to more positive self-talks. Just as any other important thing worth doing, a little bit of practice is required here too. Hard work n patience will ultimately pay off.

A lot of people cannot modify their eating routine until they change their opinion about eating, drinking and food. By shedding “unclear” thoughts and instead having more positive ones we can change our eating habit. It is likely to rid our self from many self-critical views, but like any root habit, it takes an urge and attention to change.

Statements beginning with “should” are more in relation to people’s morals, not ones preferred by the people who want to shed weight. Moreover, should statements are a sign of an effort by the dieter to encourage himself/herself without actually believing in its significance. It’s always wise to settle on what benefits for us. “I will eat up hot walnut brownie with vanilla ice cream and take pleasure in eating it.”

The best way to reach our goal, where we want to see ourselves is by enhancing self confidence. It is important to keep telling our self “yes, of course I can do it.” And the next thing we’ll know is that we are already doing it.

The monologues that are going about in the back of our mind cannot be blocked. Yet, another way out of it would be to be conscious of unenthusiastic self-talk and realize that it barely has any truth to it in reality. When we accept this as true, we can act in response to the critical and decisive say with an added purposeful, coping notion. Although this might not end the negative and unrealistic thoughts, they can be hushed by paying attention to our considerate, compassionate voice. Similar to how we would express sympathy and hear out a close friend, take note of our self. We need to be our very own confidant and probability is we’ll have better accomplishment at weight loss.
